<p>In order for an optical line state monitoring device, interworking with a subscriber device and a network management system, to monitor an optical line, the optical line state monitoring device collects subscriber device diagnosis information from the subscriber device and central office device diagnosis information for the optical line state monitoring device per se, and calculates the optical line loss between the subscriber device and the optical line state monitoring device. Further, the optical line state monitoring device checks whether the change in the optical line loss goes beyond a preset reference value by comparing the calculated optical line loss value to an optical line loss value calculated at a previous point in time, and if the optical line loss value goes beyond the preset reference value, checks the optical line loss between the optical line state monitoring device and a neighboring subscriber device, other than the subscriber device, thereby analyzing the optical line state change.</p> |
