PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless power transmission system in which efficiency of power transmission from a power transmission device to a power reception device can be made constant, regardless of a direction of the power reception device with respect to the power transmission device.SOLUTION: The wireless power transmission system includes: a power transmission device 101 including passive electrodes 111 to 113 and an active electrodes 121; and power reception device 201 including a passive electrode 211 and an active electrode 221. Power is transmitted from the power transmission device 101 to the power reception device 201 by making the passive electrodes 111 to 113 and passive electrode 211 face each other and making the active electrodes 121 and active electrode 221 face each other. Facing areas of the active electrode 121 and of active electrode 221 when the power reception device 201 is mounted vertically on the power transmission device 101 and the facing areas when mounted horizontally on the power transmission device 101 are approximately the same. Facing areas of the passive electrodes 111 to 113 and of the passive electrode 211 when the power reception device 201 is mounted vertically on the power transmission device 101 and the facing areas when mounted horizontally on the power transmission device 101 are approximately the same. |
