RECEIVING APPARATUS AND RECEIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus and a receiving method for improving reception quality by selecting optimum base stations and synthesizing data of the selected base stations even when base stations transmit data with channel formats and coding rates different for every base station.

SOLUTION: A base station selection information acquisition section 103 extracts a communication parameter included in a received signal. A data channel reception quality measurement section 104 obtains reception quality of data channels for every base station from the received signal. A base station selection criterion calculation section 105 uses the communication parameter to convert the reception quality of the data channels into error-corrected quality and sequentially selects base stations in the order of those with more excellent converted quality. A data channel demodulation section 106 demodulates data of the data channels of the selected base stations. A data selection synthesis section 107 synthesizes data of the data channels of the selected base stations.
