<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning an exhaust gas which reduces scattering of Bi from a composite oxide and keeps effect of suppressing the exhaust of H<SB>2</SB>S for a long period of time in a catalyst for cleaning an exhaust gas which is loaded with a composite oxide comprising Bi and Ti with a three-way catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: In the catalyst for cleaning an exhaust gas which has a catalyst layer including a carrier base material, a noble metal, a porous oxide and a composite oxide comprising Bi and Ti which are carried by the carrier base material, the ratio (R) of the molecular quantity of Bi per unit volume of the carrier base material to the carried molecular quantity of Ti per unit volume of the carrier base material is 0.3≤R≤1.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
