摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst carrier capable of advantageously preventing sintering of a noble metal such as platinum, its production method, and a catalyst using the catalyst carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst carrier consists of mutually mixed primary particles 1 of ceria and primary particles 2 of alumina and the exhaust gas treatment catalyst consists of the catalyst carrier and platinum deposited on the carrier. The alumina forms a solid solution with an oxide of at least one metal selected from rare earth metals, alkali metals, and alkaline earth metals at an atomic ratio of 0.1 to 10 mol% of the metal element to alumina. The production method of the catalyst carrier involves forming mixture sol of ceria sol and alumina sol; producing agglomerates by agglomerating the ceria sol and alumina sol from the mixed sol; and drying and firing the yielded agglomerates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
