<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a device by lightening burdens on a user in accordance with the management of an image file. <P>SOLUTION: A digital still camera 100 as an imaging apparatus comprises an optical circuit 150 that images an image and is used as a generator for generating an image file GF having image data; a compression/expansion circuit 130; an image data generation circuit 140; a storage medium RM as a storage for storing a plurality of image files GF; and a control circuit 110.
