The invention relates to a method for retrofitting a device for producing a non-woven fabric, said device comprising a former for forming a non-woven fabric, suction pipes and/or suction boxes for dewatering the non-woven fabric and a drying device, said method comprising the following steps: - removing all the suction pipes and/or suction boxes arranged upstream of the drying device, and - installing a belt press between the former and the drying device, the belt press comprising a roller, around which are wrapped at least one inner belt adjoining the roller and an outer press belt, wherein a non-woven material web resulting from the non-woven fabric formed in the former can be arranged, and preferably are arranged, at least in the region of the roller between the inner belt and the outer press belt, wherein the press belt can be pressed, and preferably is pressed, against the roller with a belt tension of at least 15 kN/m. A method for operating the device which is retrofitted according to the above-mentioned method, comprises the steps of: - forming a non-woven fabric in the former, - further dewatering of the non-woven fabric material web resulting from the non-woven fabric in the belt press, and - guiding the non-woven fabric material web through the drying device. |
