<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uninterruptible power supply capable of reducing the amount of current which flows into a semiconductor switch to the amount of rated current or lower while suppressing reduction in voltage between terminals of a power storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The uninterruptible power supply comprises a semiconductor switch 3 which is connected between a commercial alternating current 1 and a load 2, and a bidirectional electric power converter 6 which is connected between the load 2 and a power storage device 5. The uninterruptible power supply detects a current IS which flows into the semiconductor switch 3 and reactive current ILq which flows into the load 2, and makes the bidirectional electric power converter 6 supply the reactive current ILq to the load 2 when the current IS exceeds the amount of rated current IR. Therefore, the current IS of the semiconductor switch 3 can be reduced to the amount of rated current IR or lower while suppressing reduction in voltage VDC between terminals of the power storage device 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
