<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform autonomous system switching of a host computer without any extra equipment such as a monitor device. <P>SOLUTION: A computer switching system 1 includes an in-use computer 3, a standby computer 4, a network 7 made duplex by a first network 7a and a second network 7b, a communication path 2, a first repeater 5, and a second repeater 6. The first repeater 5 connects the in-use computer 3 and standby computer 4 to the first network 7a. The second repeater 6 connects the in-use computer 3 and standby computer 4 to the second network 7b. The communication path 2 connects the in-use computer 3 and standby computer 4 to each other. The in-use computer 3 detects the first repeater 5 and second repeater 6 being unable to communicate, and informs the standby computer 4 of a switching request for switching a service providing source to the standby computer 4, through the communication path 2.
