<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder compact magnetic core, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: coating soft magnetic powder with an organic metal coupling agent; coating the resultant powder with an organic metal resin which can form an insulative oxide; and compression-shaping and thermally treating the resultant powder, whereby an insulative oxide coating consisting of only the organic metal resin is formed over the surface of the soft magnetic powder. By performing the thermal treatment after having mixed the powder to be processed and the organic metal resin, a metaloxane bond is made between the soft magnetic powder and the organic metal coupling agent. In the compression shaping process, a lubricant is mixed with the powder to be processed. As the soft magnetic powder, it is preferable to use gas-atomized powder. However, a water-atomized powder may be used if the mixing ratio is changed. The organic metal coupling agent is a silane coupling agent. The organic metal resin is a silicone resin. In the powder compact magnetic core thus produced, the soft magnetic powder has its surface covered with a coating layer of the organic metal coupling agent, and the organic metal resin layer is formed on the coating layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
