PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten processing time required for backup processing. SOLUTION: A communication system 1 includes a transmitter 3 and a receiver 5. The transmitter 3 includes a transmission unit 3a for acquiring stored data in the order determined in association with identification information of the data, and sequentially transmitting the acquired data to the receiver 5 while dividing the data into packets. The receiver 5 includes a storage unit 5a for storing the data identification information for identifying data that is received from the outside, as a reception history, a judgement unit 5b for receiving the data transmitted from the transmitter 3 in the order identical to the transmitter 3 and for judging whether the data identification information corresponding to the order is stored in the storage unit 5a or not when it receives the first packet of the data, and an instruction unit 5c for giving an instruction to the transmitter 3 to stop the transmission of the packets of the data after the first packet when the data identification information is stored in the storage unit 5a.
