1. A barbecue grill (100) is provided. The barbecue grill comprises a cooking compartment (135), a cooking surface (140) located in the cooking compartment, and at least one heating element (145) located under the cooking surface and adapted to be operated to provide heat for cooking food placed on the coking surface. The barbecue grill further comprises at least one additional heating element (148) adapted to generate electromagnetic radiation in the microwave spectrum and feed said electromagnetic radiation into the cooking compartment for investing food placed on the coking surface.
