Disclosed are a method for supporting the mobility of a virtual machine in a network input output virtualization environment, and an apparatus for performing the same. In the method for supporting the mobility of a virtual machine, a source host inactivates an accelerated data path connected to a source virtual machine when the virtual machine is moved. The source host switches a packet to a general data path connected to the source virtual machine to move the source virtual machine. A target host activates the accelerated data path when the movement of the virtual machine is terminated. The target host receives a policy set to the source virtual machine from a network manager to set the policy to a target virtual machine. Accordingly, the mobility of the virtual machine may be supported in a network input output virtualization environment and network connectivity and a policy set to the virtual machine may maintain upon movement of the virtual machine. |
