摘要 <p>An embodiment of the invention is a simulation arrangement (1) for simulating the thermal and mechanical stress on the FlexPipe (5) (or another component) of an exhaust system (4) of a motor vehicle (2), comprising: means for heating air (eg a hot gas burner 14) and feeding the heated air through the FlexPipe (5) to simulate the thermal stress on the FlexPipe. Provided also are means for moving the FlexPipe (5), such as an upstream end portion of the FlexPipe (5), by means of a mechanical simulation device (15) in various degrees of freedom, such as in a z-translational direction (37), an x-translational direction (38) and in a rotational direction (40). A rear or downstream end of the FlexPipe (5) may be moved or adjusted by means of an additional simulation device (18) in a z-translational direction (37). The hot gas burner (14) may feed hot gas through the FlexPipe (5) alternately in a high-temperature cycle and a low-temperature cycle. The arrangement may comprise alternative control means or methods such as using the inlet temperature and the outlet temperature of the air/gas through the exhaust system (4).</p>
