PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress costs of development of a semiconductor device and to suppress surplus power consumption and increase in costs of manufacturing due to the operation of the semiconductor device for a rear surface with a frequency higher than necessity.SOLUTION: An image reading apparatus comprises: a storage part for storing image data; a first reading part for reading one surface of a document; a first drive signal generating part for generating a drive signal; a first semiconductor device capable of operating at a speed corresponding to the frequency of the drive signal generated by the first drive signal generating part and performing image processing in parallel; a second reading part for reading the other surface of the document; a second drive signal generating part for generating a drive signal; a second semiconductor device which operates at a speed corresponding to the frequency of the drive signal generated by the second drive signal generating part and performs image processing. The first semiconductor device and the second semiconductor device are the same, and the second drive signal generating part generates the drive signal of a frequency lower than that of a drive signal generated by the first drive signal generating part. |
