Disclosed are: an organic thin film solar cell having a high fill factor and high photoelectric conversion efficiency and also having durability; and an organic photoelectric conversion element material constituting the organic thin film solar cell. Specifically disclosed is an organic photoelectric conversion element equipped with at least a photoelectric conversion layer and a carrier transport layer arranged between a transparent electrode and a counter electrode, wherein the organic photoelectric conversion element is characterized in that a material constituting the carrier transport layer is represented by general formula (1).
