<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth corrections even if an imaging device and an image processing apparatus are of different makers or models. <P>SOLUTION: If gamma information is available from JPEG-compressed/recorded image data, a printer image correction part 220 of a printer 200 applies inverse gamma processing using the gamma information, then multiplies the restored image data by a gain that is a brightness correction value, and applies gamma processing to the brightness-corrected image data. If gamma information is unavailable from the JPEG-compressed/recorded image data, inverse gamma processing using set gamma information is applied, the restored image data is then multiplied by the brightness correction value gain, and gamma processing is applied to the brightness-corrected image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
