Provided are a film production apparatus and a method for producing film capable of exerting a good effect of suppressing necking-in and suppressing film wobbling, and further exerting a good effect of suppressing build-up having a trade-off relationship with the suppression of necking-in. A film production apparatus 10 is configured to take up molten resin fl extruded downward from an exit 1a bored at a lower end face 1b of a die 1 by a rotating chill roll 3 located below the exit 1a and to cool the molten resin fl for solidification by the chill roll 3 to produce film FL, and the film production apparatus further includes: a fluid chamber 5 that provides fluid fd to a space K between the exit 1a and the chill roll 3, the fluid chamber 5 having a counter face facing the space K and the chill roll 3, and the fluid fd provided from the fluid chamber 5 flows through a fluid channel along the counter face toward the die 1 while applying a fluid pressure p in a direction pushing back the molten resin fl existing in the space K against displacement of the molten resin taken up in a rotational direction of the chill roll 3. |
