Apparatus for the liquid treatment of fibrous material comprises perforate conveyer means for continuously transporting fibrous material through a path, spray means above the conveyer for applying liquid to the material along one or more portions of the path, means for drawing the applied liquid through the material and means in advance of and beyond each of said portions of the path for guiding the conveyer <PICT:0563630/IV/1> means through portions of the parts elevated above the liquid-applying portions. The conveyer comprises perforated plate sections 2 pivoted together and having overlapping vertical side portions. The conveyer is supported by rollers 3 travelling on a track 5 which is elevated between liquid treating stations comprising spray heads 13, 14 and suction boxes 11, 12. The apparatus is intended for successive liquid treatments of viscose rayon staple fibre. Squeeze rollers may be positioned at the elevated parts of the track to assist in preventing the mixing of liquids from successive stages. U.S.A. Specification 1,723,998 is referred to.
