<p>A swivel joint 30 for an articulated vehicle (10, Figure 1), particularly an articulated bus, pivotably connects a first wagon (12, Figure 1) to a second wagon (14, Figure 1). Joint 30 comprises a first joint part 32 and a second joint part 34 pivotably connected to first joint part 32 about a swivel axis 36, and a sensor 38 detecting the angle between joint parts 32, 34 about swivel axis 36. Sensor 38 comprises a sender 48, for example a magnet, connected to one joint part 32, 34 and a receiver (40, Figure 8) receiving a signal from sensor (48, Figure 8) and attached to the other joint part, and uses the signal to deflect relative deflection between joint parts 32, 34. Preferably, joint 30 comprises an actuator 58, 60 for swivelling joint parts 32, 34 relative to each other dependent on the detected angle between joint parts 32, 34.</p> |
