PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep supplying a desulfurized raw material while evading the exchange of a hydro-desulfurizer even when the hydrodesulfurizer reaches the end of its life.SOLUTION: An operation method is of a hydrogen generating device 100 provided with the hydrodesulfurizer 20 that removes a sulfur compound in a material gas by reacting a hydrogen gas with the sulfur compound and a hydrogen generator 2 that has a reformer 30 which generates a hydrogen-containing gas using the material gas. Before the life of the hydrodesulfurizer 20 ends, the reformer 30 generates the hydrogen-containing gas using the material gas that has passed the hydro-desulfurizer 20 when the hydrogen-containing gas is supplied to hydrogen-utilizing equipment 40, and after the life of the hydrodesulfurizer 20 ends, the reformer 30 generates the hydrogen-containing gas using the material gas that has passed a normal temperature desulfurizer that removes the sulfur compound in the material gas at the normal temperature when the hydrogen-containing gas is supplied to the hydrogen-utilizing equipment 40. |
