PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus which appropriately displays more effective map images with simple operation, and to provide a method for using the portable electronic apparatus. SOLUTION: A portable electronic apparatus includes: a housing; an image capturing part obtaining a map image by capturing an image; a processing part which specifies a position, which the map image obtained by the image capturing part indicates, and obtains related information of the specified position and information of a specific image obtained by placing the obtained related information at a corresponding position of the map image; and an image projection part provided at the housing and projecting the specific image in a projection area.
