<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of improving the quality of an image formed on paper by suppressing flapping of the trailing edge of the paper passing through the edge of a guide plate, and a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: A laser printer is equipped with: a photoreceptor drum 27 carrying a toner image; a transfer roller 30 arranged to be opposed to the photoreceptor drum 27 and transferring the toner image on the photoreceptor drum 27 to the paper 3; a paper supply roller conveying the paper 3 to a transfer position C between the photoreceptor drum 27 and the transfer roller 30; and the guide plate 61 guiding the paper 3 to be conveyed by the paper supply roller toward the photoreceptor drum 27.
