PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding method improving acoustic feeling quality of a multi-channel audio signal.

SOLUTION: The method includes a step of generating a first output signal x'monoto be an encoding parameter expressing a main signal xmonoand a step of generating a second output signal psideto be an encoding parameter expressing a sub signal xside, wherein the main signal xmonois a first linear combination of at least signals 16A, 16B of first and second channels. The sub signal xsideis a second linear combination of at least the signals 16A, 16B of the first and second channels in the encoding frame. The step of generating the second output signal includes a step of scaling the sub signal xsideaccording to an isoenergetic curve of the main signal xmono.
