PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate redoing of reservation registering operation and to facilitate processing for reservation registration. SOLUTION: Reservation information is acquired at S1 and it is decided, at S2, whether there is connection-destination equipment for connection-source equipment. When there is no connection-destination equipment, a warning is displayed on a digital broadcast receiving device side indicating there is no connection-destination equipment, and an advance to S4 is made as well as the presence of connection-destination equipment to store reservation registration in a memory on the digital broadcast receiving device side. When a reservation start state is entered at S5, it is confirmed again at S6 whether there is connection equipment and when there is connection equipment, an advance to S7 is made to confirm whether a recording and reproducing device as an object of reservation is powered ON or OFF. When the power source is OFF, the recording and reproducing device being the object of reservation is requested at S8 to be powered ON and an advance to S9 is made as well as the state wherein the power source is ON to instruct the recording and reproducing device being the object of reservation to select an object channel of reserved video recording. At S9, it is decided whether the channel selection is successful. The reservation information is saved and managed in the memory on the digital broadcast receiving device side, and a reservation for the connection-destination equipment can be made by operating the connection-source equipment without transferring the reservation information to the recording and reproducing device.
