<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine roles of an authenticator and a supplicant of authentication while taking a route to an authentication server into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: A radio communication setting data holding unit 205 holds, as setting data for radio communication, an SSID for identifying a radio ad hoc network 290, the MAC address of a radio terminal 200, the metric of a route extending from the radio terminal 200 to the authentication server (the metric of the authentication server itself), etc. When a beacon is received from an unauthenticated nearby radio terminal having a matching SSID etc., the metric of a route from another radio terminal having sent the beacon to the authentication server (the metric of the other authentication server) is compared with the metric of the authentication server itself. Then the radio terminal 200 is set as a supplicant when the former is superior or as an authenticator when not to perform mutual authentication by setting the terminal 200 into the authenticator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
