The tool has a driving element i.e. drive plate, engageable with a turnable part i.e. nut (6), of a connection e.g. pipe fitting (1), for turning the turnable part for tightening or loosening the connection. A power drive acts on the driving element to turn the driving element and the turnable part over a partial stroke, such that a space is formed between the drive and the driving element. The drive is displaced over the space towards the element to act again on the element to turn the element and to further turn the turnable part of the connection over a further partial stroke. An independent claim is also included for a method of tightening or loosening connections. |
