<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flywheel power storage system that enables power supply even to existing AC input equipment by improving conversion efficiency while achieving miniaturization by simplifying the configuration of a power storage system. <P>SOLUTION: The power storage system has a sensor 2 for detecting a power supply voltage of a system power supply 1. When an actual value of the power supply voltage exceeds a first preset threshold, a matrix converter 4 controls a motor 5 so as to store power of the system power supply 1 in a flywheel 6 as rotational energy. When an actual value of the power supply voltage is lower than a second threshold preset to a value less than the first threshold, the motor 5 is controlled so as to regenerate power from the flywheel 6 to the system power supply 1.
