<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of preventing a leakage of particulates and blocking of a DPF by appropriately estimating the amount of particulates collected by the DPF. <P>SOLUTION: Immediately after oil supply, a third DPT map with the largest set value is selected as a map for computing a particulate emission amount DPT per unit time (S14), and the collected particulate amount QPT of the DPF 32 is computed.
