PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress separation of a printed wire jointed to an electrode wire of a head base body. SOLUTION: This thermal head X includes: a head base body 3 including a substrate 7, a plurality of heat generation parts 9 arranged on the substrate 7 and electrode wires 17, 19, 21 for supplying current to the plurality of heat generation parts 9; an FPC 5 having a plurality of printed wires 5b for supplying current to the plurality of heat generation parts 9 through the electrode wires; and an reinforcement plate 33 stuck to the FPC 5. In the thermal head, the plurality of printed wires 5b each have a wire joint part 5c jointed to the electrode wire; the wire joint parts 5c are arranged side by side in a linear form; the reinforcement plate 33 is arranged so as not to overlap the wire joint parts 5c; one side 33a of the reinforcement plate 33 extends along the arrangement direction of the wire joint parts 5c adjacently to the wire joint parts 5c; a region 33X extending along the one side 33a of the reinforcement plate 33 is stuck to the FPC 5 in a range shorter than the length L of the line comprising the wire joint parts 5c of the plurality of printed wires 5b.
