PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator temperature estimation device for estimating the maximum stator temperature during an early period in re-turning on of a starter switch. SOLUTION: The stator temperature estimation device includes an MG2 temperature sensor 48 for detecting the temperature of the stator of a second motor generator; storage means 68 for storing an off-timing detection temperature detected by the MG2 temperature sensor 48 when a starter switch 46 is turned off; and stator initial temperature estimation means 72 that acquires an on-timing detection temperature detected by the MG2 temperature sensor 48 when the starter switch 46 is re-turned on, and estimates the maximum stator temperature during an early period in turning on based on the off-timing detection temperature and the on-timing detection temperature.
