PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which reduces both of peak power and average power consumption during printing (or total power consumed during printing). SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device includes: a carriage loaded with a head for discharging an ink drop; a transfer belt or a transfer roller for transferring a recording medium; a first drive motor which can reciprocatingly move the carriage along a guide rod; a second drive motor which can rotate the transfer belt or the transfer roller, and an assist mechanism for transferring deceleration energy of the carriage to the second drive motor.
