<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can have an optical system simplified to lower the cost, and perform suitable restoration processing on a subject to be photographed, and a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: the optical system 110 designed to have a nearly constant PSF before and behind a focusing position in spite of being not in focus at the focusing position; an imaging device 120 capturing an image of the optical system; a blur processing unit 160 which performs blur restoration processing; a blur amount detecting circuit 190 which detects an amplitude correlation value of image data obtained by the imaging device; a blur restoring filter group 180 calculated on the basis of the focus position of the optical system from a spot spread function according to a defocusing amount; and a control unit 200 which performs filtering processing, using an arbitrary blur restoring filter, on the image data obtained by the imaging device, selects a filter corresponding to the detection results of the detection of the amplitude correlation value from the blur restoring filter group 180, and performs control to carry out filtering processing again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
