The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a metal nanopowder by wire explosion. More specifically, the present invention relates to the method for manufacturing the metal nanopowder, which can manufacture the metal nanopowder having a uniform particle size distribution by uniformly applying current to the entirety of a metal raw material, while reducing energy usage, and the apparatus for manufacturing the same. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of disposing a metal foil in a reaction chamber; supplying direct current (DC) energy to the metal foil disposed in the reaction chamber; and supplying pulse energy to the metal foil to which the DC energy is supplied, thereby wire-exploding the metal foil.
