The present invention relates to a water level sensing apparatus which can continuously sense the level of a fluid stored in a tank and accurately measure the level by correcting errors, and to a water level sensing method. The water level sensing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a level sensor generating a measurement value by continuously sensing the level of the fluid stored in the tank; an auxiliary sensor generating a level sensing signal when the level of the fluid stored in the tank reaches a preset level reference value; and a level value generator generating a level value corresponding to the measurement value, and correcting the level value by confirming errors of the level value when the level sensing signal is generated.
