<p>The present invention relates to a device for detecting obstacles around a vehicle which can detect the obstacles existing around the vehicle even in the environment where noise occurs by determining whether the obstacles exist by using detected information verified with valid information, and to a method therefor. The device for detecting obstacles around a vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a sensing unit obtaining detected information by transmitting and receiving an ultrasonic signal of a sensor to detect the obstacles around the vehicle; a confirming unit confirming whether first detected information and second detected information obtained by the sensing unit are valid; a storing unit storing at least one of the first detected information and the second detected information when the detected information is confirmed to be valid by the confirming unit; and a determining unit determining whether the obstacles exist around the vehicle based on two latest pieces of detected information stored as corresponded to an ultrasonic sensor among the detected information stored in the storing unit.</p> |
