<p>A display module 1 which forms a pixel unit for a light-emitting visual display (Fig. 3) formed from an array of such modules comprises transmitter and receiver units 8 configured to transmit and receive communication signals within a common plane and one or more light sources 7a-7c, e.g. red, green and blue LEDs, configured to emit light in a direction normal to the common plane. These display modules communicate wirelessly, e.g. using infra-red, with one another. A control unit is provided for controlling the light output of each of the display modules to form desired animations. By configuring the array of pixel units to form a peer to peer network the light-emitting visual display is extremely flexible in its design and quick and simply to deploy and store.</p> |
