<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for reducing the content of a sulfur component in an HCl-containing process gas from isocyanate equipment as efficiently as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A process for producing isocyanate by phosgenation of the corresponding amine is provided in which (a) phosgen is formed by reacting carbon monoxide with chlorine, and (b) a crude isocyanate mixture and a gas stream containing hydrogen chloride are formed by reacting the phosgen with the amine, and thus chlorine is produced by catalytic oxidation of the hydrogen chloride stream containing sulfur in a content of <100ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
