Reduction gear unit with high reduction ratio

The gearing has a planet gear rolling around in a ring gear (2) with a planet gear axis (4). An output is mounted to the ring gear. The planet gear includes a guide unit spaced apart from the axis, where guidance is provided between the guide unit and a cam disk such that the output experiences a drive motion by the planet gear. The disk includes a cam contour that is a closed hypocycloid (8) or envelope of the hypocycloid that is described by motion of the guide unit at ratio other than actual ratio of an effective radius of the ring gear to an effective radius of the planet gear. The ratio is reduction ratio that is in a range between 5:1 and 500:1. The guide unit is a pin that is made of ceramic or hard metal or zirconium oxide.
