PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an optimal heating state depending on the size of a work. SOLUTION: In the induction heating apparatus, a plurality of coil elements 5 layered in a vertical direction are arranged in parallel in a horizontal direction on both sides of a pass direction of a work W, and a facing distance between coil elements 5 in a vertical direction can be changed. The induction heating apparatus includes a plurality of holding members 3 holding the layered coil elements arranged in parallel on the both sides of the pass direction of the work W, respectively, an arm member 49 rotatably linked to one of the holding members and linked to the remaining holding members via pins 55 each slidably engaged with a slot 7 provided on the holding member side, and rotation means linked to the base end side of the arm member 49. The facing distances of the coil elements 5 from one another in the vertical direction can be changed by contracting the plurality of holding members 3 in the vertical direction depending on rotation of the arm member 49.
