The cable (12) has a set of copper strands (15) placed inside an insulating sheath (16), where the copper strands are compacted in a zone (18). The insulating sheath forms a neck (23) on the compacted copper strands such that the zone ensures a sealing between parts (20, 21) of the cable located on both sides of the zone. The compaction of copper strands are obtained by ultrasonic welding and forms a sealed barrier (22), where the copper strands transfer electric current. An independent claim is also included for a method for obtaining an electric cable.
