<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display apparatus capable of creating an optimal planar image in accordance with a kind of image. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes: a plane display device 2 including a display panel 2a having a display screen on which pixels are arrayed in a matrix shape and an image display control section 2b which controls the image to be displayed on the display panel; a light beam control element 4 which has a plurality of lenses provided on a front face of the display panel and controls light beams from pixels; a display mode selection section 6 which selects one of stereoscopic image display and planar image display as a display mode; an analysis section 8 which analyzes image information that a planar image displayed based on display information of a stereoscopic image has to determine whether to process the planar image; and an image processing section 10 which processes the planar image in accordance with results of analysis performed by the analysis section, sends the processed planar image to the image display control section and causes the image display control section to displays the processed planar image on the display screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
