METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTING ANTENNA IN WIRELESS NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide signaling and protocols for antenna selection in a wireless network including a base station and a plurality of user equipment (UE) transceivers.

SOLUTION: The base station specifies times and frequencies to transmit sounding reference signals (SRSs), and antennas to use to transmit the SRSs for the specified times and frequencies. Transceivers transmit the SRSs according to the specified times, frequencies, and antennas. The base station selects subsets of antennas of available sets of antennas and indicates the selected subset of antennas to the transceivers.
