<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and an image processing method, for properly compressing a dynamic range by a simpler configuration, and to provide an image pickup device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor is provided with: an input image blur processing part 21; a compression characteristic creation part 22; and a base component image compression part 23. In the input image blur processing part 21, a plurality of smooth images different in space frequency components and resolutions are created from an input image I, and a base component image L whose resolution is equal to that of the input image I is created based on the plurality of smooth images. In the compression characteristic creation part 22, compression characteristics X(ib) for compressing the base component image L are created based on any smooth image among the plurality of smooth images. In a base component image compression part 23, a compressed base component image Ls whose dynamic range is smaller than that of the base component image L is created by using the compression characteristics X(ib) created by the compression characteristics generation part 22 to the base component image L. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
