An apparatus and a method for transmitting an FM signal are provided to select/use an FM antenna according to circumstances of a user by installing the FM antenna in an external case. An external case(200) includes the first antenna(210). The first antenna transmits an FM(Frequency Modulation) signal. A mobile terminal modulates data of the mobile terminal into an FM signal in an FM signal transmission mode. The mobile terminal transmits the modulated signal through the first antenna or the second antenna. The first antenna of the external case is connected to the mobile terminal. Or the second antenna of an earphone is inserted into the mobile terminal. An antenna port(230) is connected to the mobile terminal. The antenna port inputs the FM signal.
