PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kneading pulper that can increase a production amount of paper stock slurry, prevent a long foreign body such as a string from being wound around a vertical rotation axis, and reduce facility cost. SOLUTION: A kneading pulper 1 comprises: a vertical type cylindrical vessel 20 in which paper stock slurry is made by mixing and stirring paper stock 2 injected from a supply port 20a at the upper part with a solution and defibrating the mixture; a vertical rotation axis 30 which is vertically extended and rotatable at the center of the vertical type cylindrical vessel 20; and a pulping rotor 40 which is installed at the upper part of the vertical rotation axis 30 and presses the paper stock 2 while guiding it downward.
