PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tea field management machine running while straddling a tea ridge, capable of automatically steering the running direction, capable of running rearward by making the sensing mechanism a fixed condition, and making the constitution simple. SOLUTION: The tea field management machine has running units 1, 1 right and left lower ends of a front side gate type frame 2A and a rear side gate type frame 2B straddling the tea ridge 90 and operates along the ridge. The machine has tea tree sensing means A for running forward having arc-shape sensing plates 5 whose center places swell to the tea ridge 90 side while contacting with the right and left ridge side faces 91, 91 viewing in plan view and pressure sensors arranged inside of the same in the insides of the front side gate type frame 2A. The machine is constituted so as to automatically running forward along the tea ridge 90 by measuring the contact pressures from the tea ridge side faces 91, 91 acting on the right and left arc-shape sensing plates 5, 5 and by controlling by an automatically running control section C such that the right and left contacting pressures become equal.
