PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge a secondary battery while setting a charging completion voltage more properly.SOLUTION: When a system is activated after a charger charges a high-voltage battery to a charging completion voltage V* using power from an external power supply, in the case that an overvoltage determination signal Vo from an overvoltage sensor is turned on but then turned off before an overcharge abnormality is established (YES at a step S410), a delay penalty &Dgr;V1 is set based on the accumulation number of trips in which the above state occurs (the number of detection delay trips N) (at steps S420-S440). A delay penalty &Dgr;V2 is set based on a delay time Tsd as an output duration time period of the overvoltage determination signal Vo (at steps of S450 and S460). The whole delay penalty &Dgr;V is set by a sum of the delay penalties &Dgr;V1 and &Dgr;V2 (at a step S490). A value obtained by offsetting the delay penalty &Dgr;V to a low-voltage side is set as the charging completion voltage V* (at a step S500). |
