<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for plasma torch in which a high melting point material composing an electrode material is prevented from being diffused along the apical surface of an electrode substrate on the apical surface of an electrode for plasma torch, and thereby the life of the electrode can be prolonged. <P>SOLUTION: An electrode 10 for plasma torch has an electrode substrate 11, and an electrode material 12 arranged on the apical surface 11A of the electrode substrate 11, and generates a plasma arc between the electrode material 12 and a processed material by applying a current.
