PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink containing ozone oxidation treated self dispersing carbon black, excellent in storage stability and capable of recording images excellent in bleeding resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided an aqueous ink containing ozone oxidation treated self dispersing carbon black and potassium benzoate. The self dispersing carbon black is neutralized by potassium and mass percentage of the content of potassium benzoate (mass%) to the content of the self dispersing carbon black (mass%) is from 0.03 times to 0.30 times inclusive.SELECTED DRAWING: None
